California Dreams… Part 2: The wedding and a lonnnng day in the airport!

Saturday was a blast! In the morning PB, Ili, Pat and I met for breakfast next to the hotel. I had a whole grain bagel + pb and j + a banana.. and a tall iced sugar free hazelnut coffee with a splash of skim from starbucks! The bagel was just OK, but the iced coffee was slamming!

After lounging in front of the pool for a bit, and being a little chilly in the wind, PB and I headed out for a quick run up the gorgeous hill, towards the canyon. We did 30 minutes, but with my pace it was probably only 3 miles. After that glorious fresh air, we headed to Pita Grill next to the hotel for a quick lunch. We saw Ili, Pat, and Dadri there by chance!

I had a vegetarian platter with greek salad, hummus + pita, and grilled eggplant. And an unsweetened iced tea. It was soooo good! I wish we had this kind of produce in Rhodey!

Then I got ready while PB blogged on his blog, tapdancingbrain! What a cutie.

The ceremony and reception were at this gorgeous place that had live animals and a villa feel.

Some pics from the ceremony…

Cocktail hour with a Jamaican steel drum player was a blast. I had a mini burger and a bacardi diet.. or two! We danced our socks off.

The courses.. I ate about 90% of it. It was all soooo delicious! The catering company was called 24, and their food was amazing!

First course was a salad with apples, walnuts, and dried cranberries

This was paired with a nice white wine, but I passed on all my wines as I kept drinking bacardi diets. Second course was a lobster ravioli in a cream sauce, with another white wine:

3rd course was a perfectly cooked filet mignon with roasted veggies and an amazing gnocchi. With a red wine.

There is only one food PB hates, and it is cooked carrots, so the whole table decided to share their carrots with him hahahah

And some fun pictures because I like them…

I also ate 1.5 rolls, with butter:

Sunday was a rough travel day. Dadri and I forced ourselves to go for a sunrise walk before the airport. We all had breakfast in the hotel before saying goodbye. I ate like a piglet yesterday to try and get rid of the hangover. Let me tell you, turbulence is not good for a hangover.

First I had scrambled eggs, toast, and traditional bacon. Seriously. I needed it, even though I was grossed out. Plus oj

Then I had an unpictured coffee light frappucino from the airport to try and make me feel better. and THEN a crossiant. None of it made me feel better.

When we landed in Denver Dadri and I actually had an amazing lunch. I had a veggie panini + greek salad and 1/2 order of fries

I swear the food in this place in the AIRPORT was amazing. I’ve never had a better airport meal, besides the jam-filled croissant + cappuccino combo at the airport in Milano.

I capped off the hangover airport food day with a vanilla froyo with oreos and reeses pieces. The fries plus yogurt combo did the trick, and my stomach finally settled, oddly enough.

And finally, I leave you with this… the cold girls

I didn’t eat dessert because I preferred to have more drinks, eeeeeek!
