Surprise! A PhillyGirl Bachelorette!
I have friends in Philly!
Let me repeat that huge amazing sentence…
I HAVE FRIENDS IN PHILLY!!!
Thinking about moving to a new city has been a little scary considering the only extended period of time I’ve spent out of the country was 8 months in Italy. I am definitely a world traveler (my “been there” list is random and long, and my “want to go there” list even longer- let’s write our lists some day!!!) but moving for good? uh uh. (that’s no way in sound). Knowing I have some girlfriends in Philly is making this move idea so much easier! Oh, and of course knowing I will get to live with my love + having a pretty condo to beautify even more.
Saturday night PB and I had plans for dinner with Jake & Gina at Tequila’s in Center City. I didn’t think anything of it because PB and I really needed a break from unpacking and we wanted to treat Jake & Gina to a meal anyway since Jake helped move my furniture in on Friday. I wore a shirt I haven’t worn yet (thumbs up) with half blown out hair and little makeup (thumbs down) and we headed out. When we showed up to the restaurant we were taken to our table by our waitress and I was really confused…
Because there was a huge table of Philly girls smiling and yelling surprise! They threw me a surprise bachelorette party, and I had no ideaaaaaa!!!! It was sooo awesome and so very nice, and of course I can’t show all the pictures but I can show some. Gina was awesome and planned the whole thing.
First we had dinner and drinks. I had some communal chips + guac (about 10 or 15 chips? I stopped counting after 5 whoops) and then shared this amazing chicken lava bowl dish with Amy:
I stuck to Bacardi Diets all night (a fav that D taught me years ago in Firenze… Bacardi Coca Light per favore!!) and I am happy I did that. It is the only time I drink soda but the chemicals in my body were worth it for the pleasure I get out of that drink. I also shared a tequila shot with Amber (her idea)… and then the waiter brought me out this for my “birthday” (I don’t understand why he kept saying birthday when there was CLEARLY non-bday um, stuff around):
I don’t know what it was but I didn’t like it. Kind of like backwash tasting ew. After our fun time at Tequila’s (which by the way is an amazing restaurant with an amaaazzzing drink menu- you should go there!) we headed over to Pearl. That’s where I debuted my turkey costume on Halloween. We had so much fun dancing and dancing and dancing… at least from what I can remember. Embarrassingly, I haven’t had a drink in what seems like forever, and I was a little lot drunky.
My favorite part of the night had to be my napkin veil. At least I think it was a napkin- was it ladies? Anyway it was perfect and fun and so very classy.
Me and miss party planner:
My future sister in law and I having too much fun:
And being normal people of the civilized world:
Almost the whole group:
And late night, which when you’re 25 and up means 1:30/2 AM ha!
My rockin Philly ladies: Thank you for throwing me a fabulous bachelorette party (especially you miss party planner) and for keeping the random paraphanelia to a minimum. Dinner at Tequila’s plus a dance party was the perfect night to me, especially with the arabic music at the end at Byblos!!! It couldn’t have come at a perfect time either- almost exactly 3 months to the wedding!!!!! The countdown truly begins! 88 Days!!!
I CAN’T WAIT TO MOVE TO PHILADELPHIA AND START MARRIED LIFE WITH PB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You look like you had a blast and you also look sooooooo happy! You must be so excited to have such a group of brunette bombshells to cause some late night trouble with down in Philly (and wait until you hit 30 or have a child – a late night is midnight ๐ ). I so wish I had the type of relationship with my SIL that you seem to have with your FSIL. You look like you really get along great!
