Strawberry Banana Love Smoothie
PB and I are lucky enough to own a Vita-Mix.
I wonder if every sentence will start with that from now on… “PB and I..” ha.
Anyway, we used some credit card points and are now the proud owners of an amazing machine!!! I finally opened the Vita-Mix box yesterday and washed and set it all up. I could not WAIT for this morning so we could make some smoothies. I can say that we had the best smoothies ever this morning… and it was right on time for these steam shower weather days! It is HOT out!
In the Vita-Mix, in this order (the order is important I learned- liquids and soft foods first and ice and hard foods last):
1/4 cup Bolthouse Farms C-Boost (contains mango juice YUM)
1 banana, peeled and in pieces
4 oz plain Oikos yogurt
6 frozen strawberries
3-5 ice cubes
I put the Vita-Mix on Variable-1 and then on and slowly increased the speed to 10 for a total of about 25 seconds. The resulting smoothie was super thick but frothy, smooth, and literally tasted like ice cream. All we were missing were straws! A smoothie somehow isn’t complete without straws.
I can’t wait for tomorrow morning to have another smoothie.
In other news, my Nonna and Auntie D. are here!!!! We had the most amazing afternoon and dinner, and I am so happy to have them here! Our night was so fun- especially since my MIL & her husband joined us! I love having dinner parties. All of the menu items were a success and we even made something else together that I have never cooked before- you’ll have to wait until next week to find out what it was, but it was delicious!

Ahhh! I want a vita mix! It made a smoothie in 25 seconds?? My stupid little blender takes about 10 minutes

I am so glad you like your Vita-Mix! I use mine almost every day and love it — there is so much you can do with it beyond a regular blender! Daiquiris are particularly tasty w/ fresh fruit.
