Halloween 2009
Would you believe that I didn’t take a single picture of our Halloween Feast or trick-or-treat table???
I was too distracted by this little monkey:
And by this:
MY FRIENDS ILEANA AND PAT GOT ENGAGED THIS WEEKEND! He proposed to her in the place they first met at Providence College, and after she said yes she turned around and both of their families were waiting there! They had some champagne and then headed to Papa Razzi in Cranston, one of her favorite places to eat. Ileana didn’t call and tell me because she wanted to surprise us Rhode Islanders after dinner, but our friend Gina in Chicago called so I knew and went over to Papa Razzi to congratulate them!
After I calmed down from the excitement of the engagement, I finished getting ready for Halloween. Here is my lovely watermelon slice and I with my cousins Mr. & Mrs. Dracula:
Can anyone guess who I was? Hint: I am a TV show character.
Mr. & Mrs. Dracula got a little hungry for some human food:
And frightened us with their fangs:
I decided to join in the watermelon fun and have a little watermelon baby:
PB did not find it funny and turned ghost white. Ha!
We got the baby to smile but forgot to turn on the flash:
And took some fun pictures of Cleopatra and King Tut:
The bride and groom and her parents came over for some fun:
And also for a serious photo shoot:
I did the naughty thing on Halloween and chose cake over dinner. This was a lemon mousse cake from Pastiche in Providence, and it was worth every bite. I guess I needed to fuel up for my 9.3 mile run Sunday, because I had two pieces. No shame there.
We also had some strawberries and a Pastiche fruit tart for our guests.
Halloween is really fun at my dad’s house. He has all the big size candy bars and also gives the kids lots of glow lightup fun toys like necklaces, pins, rings, and bracelets. For the special kids (family friends, neighbors, etc), we pick something different each year. This year it was the princess wand for the girls that I proudly displayed in this post, and a matching pumpkin wand for the boys. I love spending time with my family and I LOVED surprising my dad. He had no clue, and it makes me happy to know that even though PB and I live in Philadelphia, Rhode Island is just a car ride away.

Since PB and I live such busy lives we really need to make an effort to live a healthy life. For us that means lots of vegetables and fruit, eating home cooked meals, and making exercise a priority. When we travel it still means lots of vegetables and fruit and making exercise a priority. You?
Aw congrats to your friend! How exciting. You sure do have a busy next 3 months!!
Congratulations to your friend. What a lovely ring!
You’re definitely going to be busy, but it sounds like you’re on the right track to staying healthy! Have fun!

We are travel rivals!!
Congrats to your friends, what a beautiful ring!
It’s hard to keep it healthy when traveling, but I just try to focus on the big picture. I always make fruits and veggies a priority, and try to stick with wine, rather than fruity drinks full of who knows what! Even if I just walk a ton, I make sure to exercise when I can!
I’ve been thinking and thinking but I can’t figure out who you were. The first thing that popped into my head was the teacher from Glee cuz she always wears big necklaces and broaches. LOL.
Love the engagement ring…congrats to your friends!
I was Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, but no one could figure it out. The teacher from Glee was an awesome guess though! I love that show!
