How to embed a video on your blog
Embedding videos on your blog is actually really easy.
Chef John of Food Wishes taught me just how, and I thought I would share the easy steps with you. I hope this video teaches you just how easy it is to embed videos, and I expect to see more on your blogs after this tutorial!!!!
Step 1: Upload video to YouTube (YouTube accounts are free & it is easy to sign up).
Step 2: Copy the embed code YouTube gives you.
Step 3: In your post switch from rich text editor (Visual) to the HTML format.
Step 4: Paste in the embed code.
Step 5: You’re done!
*Thanks to Meghann for the reminder- The above only works if you are self hosted. 🙂

OOOOHHHH my goodness, thank you SO much for this, Sabrina! I am ALWAYS having trouble with this! Yay! Thanks again! I am going to immediately try on my blog! 🙂
Now I have no excuse not to post a video on the blog! Thanks for the how-to!
Now if I could only figure out what to do with the video after I take it before it hits You Tube. How do you edit, that is my biggest question. Or do you even do that? A step by step video editing tutorial would be cool *wink*
@Angie (Losing It and Loving It), Ha! We’ll have to ask PB for that. I only know how to do very basic edits. We have Macs so he uses iMovie which is awesome, but you have to be careful to upload the video directly TO iMovie or it gets saved in iPhoto as an image.
Anyway, I will see if PB is willing to do a little tutorial! We are both still total novices but are having fun learning.
@RhodeyGirlTests, That sounds awesome, I would really love that!
Oh and while I have you, I really liked getting an email to let me know you replied to my comment. What plug in do you use for that? Thanks!
@Angie (Losing It and Loving It), Thanks! It is a feature of this plugin: WordPress Thread Comment. Enjoy!
Yay! I put up my first vlog a few days ago and I love adding videos!
Thanks for this! Do you know what to do if you can’t access the html page (as an admin user) Mine seems disabled??? Please help!
