19 weeks: A stroller obsession.
Right now, this minute, we are at our ultrasound! I hope that bambino cooperates so we can find out if it’s a boy or a girl.
As you can imagine, that is pretty much all I’ve thought about over the last week- bambino’s gender, and well, food. I’m at this weird stage where I am constantly hungry but I fill up really fast and nothing really sounds good.
I tortured myself yesterday by looking at photos of myself pre-pregnancy, and I actually forgot I was once thin. I’m embracing this hippo-feeling and letting my body do it’s weight gain thing, but it’s still weird to see how I used to look. I actually really love my baby belly, most especially when I feel some kicks! Over the last two days the kicks have been a bit stronger and feel more like an alien creature doing flips and somersaults in my belly. It feels so cool and I want to feel them more often and stronger. Hopefully soon, right?
PhillyBoy and I did a few really exciting baby things this week.
Baby stuff!
We picked out our stroller/car seat system!!!! It is really pricey but there are only a few really high end items we plan to buy- a stroller/car seat combo is definitely worth being on that list. Similar products like Carrinho de bebê passeio might also be worth considering.
I fell in love with the stroller so much that I can’t stop thinking about it and telling everyone I see about all of the amazing features. I would buy it now and walk around with it just for fun if I didn’t think I’d look like a complete weirdo. It’s the OrbitBaby G2 and it is amazing. I am already a walking (strollering?) saleswoman for the brand. I’m in love. I’m even watching all the official OrbitBaby YouTube videos.
I also want every single accessory that comes with it. Everything is just so useful! I can’t wait to buy it and have a baby to push around in it.
Baby book!
Our friends G & T bought us bambino’s one and only in-utero book! It is a Dr. Suess book and PB read to bambino last night. Bambino responded in delight with one strong, hard kick. It is incredible to be so in love with this baby already.
Childbirth classes!
We signed up for childbirth classes. I had no idea that they fill up fast or that they last more than one day. I always assumed it was like an adult CPR class where you sit for one very long day and then it’s done. Instead, this class is 6 weeks long, 2.5 hours each week. I hope we learn a lot because I don’t know anything about taking care of a baby, nursing, or where the hospital even is.
In the hustle bustle of the weekend we totally forgot to take a photo. I just took one with my cell phone to have something to account for this week, and promised myself we would do a great one next week for our halfway point!
19 weeks:
A pre-pregnancy shot, to torture myself a bit more:
And a comparison of 10 weeks vs. 19.5:
I have a baby bump! I’m really growing a little baby G!
Here’s what Babycenter says about 19 weeks:
How your baby’s growing:
Your baby’s sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don’t be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
We have a large tomato or mango. Bambino is growing so much these days, and mama is too.
Random Facts of the Week:
Overall weight gain: still waiting on the doctor’s official scale, but I think about 9 lbs as of 19 weeks
Currently craving: peanut butter banana smoothies, dairy, apples, and not much else (although I’ve been eating a lot more than that)
Sleeping position: one very specific fortress that I detail here!
Friends who have rubbed my belly: A few, and I am not someone who minds it.
Amazing things my husband has done for me in the last week: Countless! I’m so thankful to have such a great hubby.
Cry fests: 2, but I suspect one has to do with Mother’s Day coming around the corner.
New weird pregnancy things: 1- the start of a linea nigra on my belly!
Tums I take every day: at least 1 and maybe 2. Heartburn is hard to handle.

CUTE belly- love! It is so awesome to feel the pumpkin move around. I can’t wait to hear whether pink or blue! Either way- healthy! Thats always what matters 🙂 I’ve had a little bit of heartburn now and again- it totally stinks! Glad you found a stroller and stroller system that works for y’all. We have to get ours put together! Have a great day, SO excited for you
you were beautiful before and even more beautiful now 🙂 i can’t wait to find out what babyG is!!!
do you plan on breastfeeding? if so, i HIGHLY recommend taking a breastfeeding 101 class it has helped me SO much and I never had any issues what-so-ever with breast feeding — I give a lot of credit to the class, I learned SO much. And speaking of CPR classes, the Mister and I also took one for infants — lots of great info on overall infant safety, as well. It might be covered in your other class, but it’s worth looking into!
and loving your stroller makes all the difference. We have a BOB and I’m OBSESSED with it — I’ve heard awesome things about the OrbitBaby, though!
You look gorgeous! I can’t wait to hear if it is a boy or girl!!
I can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or a girl!! And you look great!
You’re still one sexy mama!
I can’t wait until you find out. Looking fabulous my friend!
We have the Orbit and LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. We now have the toddler carseat and the G2 attachment and I couldn’t be happier with it. Make sure you register for an umbrella stroller (we have a maclaren) because the orbit once the baby outgrows the infant part is a little unwieldy.
You are looking GREAT Sabrina, I can’t wait to hear the gender reveal 🙂
So excited to hear what you are having. My husband and I enjoyed our childbirth classes and probably learned the most during the breastfeeding class. I was stroller obsessed too… we got a Baby Jogger City Mini, and I’m still in love with it! And I hate to tell you this, but my heartburn only got worse the farther along I was.
I’m so excited to find out what you are having! I voted that I think its a girl…clearly this is a very scientific hypothesis haha.
Can’t wait to hear some news!!! 🙂 You just sound like your loving the pregnancy and its so nice to hear! Love the pictures, you look amazing…Happy Early Mothers day!!!
You’re definitely still thin, just with a baby!
You’re gorgeous. Honestly, I have never felt so comfortable in my own body as I did when I was pregnant. I’m ready to do it again. 🙂
I get chills every time I read one of your posts as my heart just goes out to mamas and mamas-to-be now. It is such an amazing journey.
Glad to hear you’re feeling well. Enjoy all those kicks!
P.S. We love our stroller/car seat system. Don’t know what I’d do without it as makes errands so much easier!
