30 weeks: The husband speaks!
Today is a very special day. PhillyBoy (my husband) has decided to give me a break and write most of this week’s post.
Here he is!
Good morning everyone! Sabrina’s taking a break this week and her baby daddy is stepping in to give you all the Weekly Bambino Report.
.At this point, there are just about 10 weeks or less to go until our little prince arrives. It’s actually starting to feel real! Sabrina’s been doing a wonderful job of preparing me for the late nights when the baby is born by kicking, shifting, getting up and basically preventing me from ever getting a full night’s sleep. But have to admit, I’m loving (a little too much) Sabrina’s cravings. Lately, she seems to have really taken to buffalo chicken wings – which is just fine with me. I’m making a batch as I write this- and I don’t expect them to last through the night. I’m hoping that means Bambino will be a big eater like his Baba.
.Sabrina and Bambino threw me a wonderful birthday picnic on July 9th with Uncle Jason, Aunt Niamh, Uncle Jonny, and Aunt Kristine in front of our building. We followed it up that night by seeing Colin Quinn’s stand up comedy show “Long Story Short” in Philly. Bambino was laughing the whole time – I could tell – and I hope he’ll have his parents’ strange but lovable sense of humor. On Sunday, my mom and her husband Eddie treated us to a birthday lunch at a new restaurant in Ardmore, PA called Hummus… Bambino danced and boogied as Mommy ate all of her favorite Middle Eastern treats!
.This last weekend, we took Bambino for his first trip to Ocean City, NJ to visit Auntie Maria, Uncle Greg and Auntie Ani. During the day, Bambino, Baba, and Mommy spent time on the beach reading, taking a dip in the ocean, and playing in the sand.
.At night, we bounced happily along the boardwalk – with Bambino giving little kicks and constantly reminding Mommy that he’s in there and excited to come out and play! Bambino was treated to Kohr’s ice cream (chocolate/vanilla twist with rainbow sprinkles), Johnston’s caramel corn, curly fries and gyros!! (not in that order)….let’s just say RhodeyGirl took a little break from her usual healthy eating. But she deserves it and Bambino had a great time!
I’m back… and PB is right about my shore junk food weekend. Here is the belly to prove it.
30 weeks:
I feel like a whale. I don’t mind it, but it is definitely true. I don’t know how my belly is going to grow anymore because it already feels like it’s maxed out. Oh, and I took off my watch because it started getting a little uncomfortable. There is still no obvious/visible swelling though. Weird.
22 weeks pregnant (click to enlarge):
13 weeks pregnant in Italy (click to enlarge- I thought I was huge. HA!):
What PB did not mention is that this week he put together some baby stuff! We now have a fully assembled co-sleeper as well as a stroller! I may or may not have pretended a stuffed duck was bambino and took him for a little walk around the apartment. I had to test the stroller somehow, right?
We are so excited! Just about 2 months until bambino makes his arrival!!!!
Random facts of the week:
Weight gained in the last week: Only 0.6 lbs! Woohoo!
Overall weight gained: 28 lbs
Birth plans written: 1, which I share on Babycenter today
Junk food eaten: a lot of famous shore food! pizza slices the size of my head, caramel popcorn, and the previously mentioned soft serve.
Naps taken: about 100. Our weekend at the shore was literally a nap & food fest, and it was heavenly. I needed it.
Times PB helped me up from a sitting position: 24. At least a few per day!
Baby stuff done: co-sleeper was put together!!! One stroller was assembled and tested!!!! Mailed gifts opened and oohed and aahed over
Current cravings: ice cream from Scoop DeVille- specifically vanilla mixed with fresh frozen strawberries and milk chocolate chunks. I hope PB stops working soon so he can take me!
Days left until due date #1 (based on 1st tri measurements): 60
Days left until due date #2 (based on LMP): 67
Current symptoms: heartburn, pain in legs when I sleep, slight swelling (that I can’t see but definitely feel), nausea when I’m hungry, a few stretch marks (boohoo)

Loved PBs post! The Ocean City boardwalk is the best place to enjoy some junk food:-)
You look so cute and so tan! Wish the sun would make an appearance here. Two months will fly by, look likes you are ready! Yay!
Wonderful post! Great job, PB!
Sabrina, you definitely DON’T look like a whale – you may feel like one, but you do not look it!! You are still very radiant.
Now I’m craving that ice cream from Scoop DeVille and I’m not even pregnant. Sounds delish!
You look beautiful! I’m so excited for you that you’re at 30 weeks. What a milestone 🙂
And yay to shore food! I’m heading to the shore next month and cannot wait to indulge in everything you just mentioned.
Love the post from PB! I was actually going to ask for questions for Josh and let him in on the VLOG action! He is so supportive and wonderful (go PB!). Glad you guys had fun. It is amazing how you start to feel like your belly truly cannot get any larger! Somehow it freakishly does…. 😉
Your baby boy is just going to LOVE checking out your blog when he’s old enough to understand!! Although I hadn’t began blogging at the time I was pregnant, I did take belly pics and my kids just love looking at them and hearing me recount how I felt during that time….so much fun! Sabrina, you look fabulous and super happy:) Philly Boy, great job on the recount of the week, it was fun hearing from you:)
30 weeks!! Can you believe it? I totally feel you on the whale thing, and I agree I love it too. 🙂
You look great (and so tan)!! It’s so great to see PB so excited about everything. I’m still not quite sure it’s really hit my husband, and we’re a mere 3 weeks away!
Love PB’s post, so fun to read and it’s so cute how excited he is! And you look gorgeous and glowing Sabrina, I can understand how you may feel big, but you look beautiful and a healthy bambino is in there 🙂
Yay for a guest post from PB! Sounds like a wonderful time at the shore. Try to enjoy the last two months, they’ll fly by!
I just caught up with you. oh no about the fall! also, you look beautiful. <3
Great to hear from the baby daddy!
Sabrina- you are radiant!
30 weeks suits you well! You look FABULOUS… and holy smokes- TAN! Could you send some of the golden tan my way? That’d be great! thanks! 🙂
@Tina (My Life as a Mrs), The funniest part about that is that I didn’t sit in the sun until AFTER that pic was taken, and I spent the whole time under an umbrella of SPF 50, a hat, and a towel!
Thanks for the compliments!
I have seen many women at the pool who have with older children (late elementary school age maybe) and they have stretch marks, but you can barely see them. They seem to fade a lot and the women are wearing bikinis and still look great, which I know you will too!
Homestretch! I just gave birth to my first baby 17 days ago without medication. Biggest tip, labor at home as long as possible. Also bring a copy of your birth plan with you, PB should play gatekeeper and give it to the nurse that will be with you while you labor. I don’t think you need a sign on the door. You can do it!
@Jess, I don’t want to be that creepy girl, but I somehow came across your blog last week and read about 20 of your posts! I love how open you are – I feel like I’ve learned a lot from you!!!!
Thanks for your positive comments. I can only hope to have the type of experience you did. WOW!
