My first Stitchfix
I’m going to be annoying just like every other blogger who’s done it by saying…
STITCHFIX IS REALLY AWESOME. Especially as a mom.
I used to make (free) appointments with the personal stylist at Bloomingdale’s or Nordstrom who would pull lots of outfits and accessories for me. I’d then spend a few hours trying on clothes in my price range before picking a couple of pieces to buy. As a mom I have no time for that nonsense but I still want to look good. I’ve officially gone through 2 years of dressing like garbage, as in I’m still wearing the same pair of DKNY track pants I bought in 2008 and the same faded black Express leggings from 2005. I’m over it.
I make some time for myself but I choose to spend it coloring my gray hair or working out or having dinner with friends. I was out with Leslie one day when she insisted I try Stitchfix. I used her referral code, signed up for my first fix, and got it today.
I’m now hooked. I loved all 5 pieces. I kept 2 out of 5 which I think is great for my first fix. The 3 I didn’t keep were a shirt (a bit too boxy but I loved the pattern), leggings (felt so soft and nice but were too short for my long legs) and a navy cardigan (doesn’t match my current wardrobe).
Here’s the shirt I kept:
I never would have picked it out off a rack but it fits me so well and is in a fun pattern. I also like how light the fabric is so I can wear it into spring. It was $58 which I think is reasonable for a shirt. I asked my stylist to find me shirts that work with leggings and nursing and he got it right.
And here’s the necklace I kept ($36)
And here’s the shirt I didn’t keep. It’s the Mercer Houndstooth Print Henley Blouse:
Here’s how it works: You pay $20 for your box of clothes picked out for you by a stylist. They know your sizes and style by a profile you fill out, and they know what you’re looking for because you tell them. If you keep any of the items they send you, the $20 gets applied to them. If you send everything back, you pay $20 and call it a day. You have 3 days to decide what to keep and what to send back, and they do their best to pick pieces within your budget.

I just had to share because I’m currently obsessed. I can’t believe I drank the Kool-Aid.
I haven’t tried them yet but hope to soon!
Addicting isn’t it?! I just got my last stitchfix of pregnancy (the belly is finally getting to big to handle regular shirts), but can’t wait to start again after baby girl arrives!
Love that first shirt on you- so fun!
I tried SF when they first started and didn’t love my 3 shipments but it’s been a year+ so I should give it another try. Great pieces!
