Giada’s Fusilli with Sausage, Artichokes, and Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Giada’s Fusilli with Sausage, Artichokes and Sun-Dried Tomatoes is one of my favorite recipes. It is also one of the first dishes I ever made by following a recipe. My only change to the original recipe is to omit the parsley and substitute ground turkey for the sausage since I dislike sausage.
The full story? My friends Dadri, Ili and I went to visit Gina in Ohio. Gina was an avid cook and we all decided to cook a fabulous pasta meal one of the days we were there. Gina wanted to make this Giada recipe and we all agreed. It was my very first time following a recipe from A to Z, and it was FUN! It was also great knowing that more than likely the dish would taste delicious and not miss any elements.
I was hooked.
That recipe had such an impact on me in my cooking life and in taste that it is still one of my favorite dishes. PB loves it too, so when I don’t know what to make this is usually one of the dishes I end up selecting. The combination of artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil is genius, and adding pasta and ground turkey makes the dish a one pot meal to serve. I love dishes like that!
I also really enjoyed meeting Giada De Laurentiis at her book signing in Philadelphia this spring. She is as nice as she seems on TV!
If you need to cook for a group of people but don’t have much time or space in the kitchen- this is the dish for you!
