Lunch 03.30.09
Lunch at home is such a treat. You can sit down and use a real fork and knife and really focus on the meal, that is, unless you are catching up on blogs + an episode of Giada at Home (Hi Gina!!!!) which is what I did today.
When we get back from our honeymoon in August I will be eating lunch at home almost every day (besides the days I sneak out for lunch with PB in center city). For now, though, it is such a special treat!
Here’s what went wrong before I left the office:
1. the power went out on our street, so the office had no systems working.
2. my hair got reallly frizzy from the rain
3. I drowned my iPhone in a LOT of tea by mistake. Luckily the iPhone hospital in my condo did wonders (read: paper towel blankets all around it)
A relaxing lunch was needed.
Part 1: a can of albacore tuna in water + a mix of iceberg lettuce and baby spinach (about a cup of each) + half a lemon, some kosher salt, and 1/2 tablespoon of amazing extra virgin olive oil.
And Part II, taken with hot tea: 2 oatmeal cookies from Back to Nature. Two perfect sized cookies = 120 calories.
Estimates:
Calories = 344
Fat = 17 g (11 g from the olive oil)
Carb = 21 g
Fiber = 2 g
Protein = 21 g
This lunch was smoookinnnnggg. Really good. I know iceberg lettuce really doesn’t have any value, but I LOVE the taste of it soooo much. And it is really low in calories which I appreciate. By mixing it with spinach, I feel better about eating it a lot more often. Which I will. Starting now.
In other news… INVITATIONS JUST WENT OUT!!!! I am so super duper excited. Less than four months to the big day! Time is a-flying!
Thoughts today: How “anonymous” are you on your blog? Or even as a commenter? Do you ever worry about making your life too public?
Hooray for lunch at home, and for Giada at Home (love that series).
Um, you know how UN-anonymous I am on my blog, haha 😀
I ADORE Giada! She’s my Food Network crush 😉
I am very anonymous on my blog but there is a reason behind it and I have to keep my personal life and blog life separate.
That lunch looks yummy. I wish I could have lunch at home.
Can you recommend some “amazing extra virgin olive oil” … I’d love to know which kind you use.
As for anonymity. That is one of the biggest reasons I don’t have a blog that I write on regularly. and I usually don’t post it when I comment. I don’t like the idea of people “finding” me. I’m weird.
awwwwwwww eating at home! It is just a whole different experience!! I get to do it tomorrow AND Wednesday! Its going to be like the best treat ever! Glad your iPhone is still functioning!
I agree lunch at home is way better!
I’m not very anonymous on my blog and sometimes I definitely worry about who reads it and whether someone “knows” me but I don’t know them. Last semester a girl actually did come up to me and told me that she read my blog, it was strange and I didn’t really know how to react. It was like she knew so much about me and my life yet I knew nothing about her, it was so strange.
i only had one incidence of someone “finding” me.. he was a co-worker and posted a comment on my blog asking if i worked in foxboro.. i think it was because i talked about running around the cul-de-sac and stuff.. lol then he founf my name on the site i write reviews for.. CYBER-STALKER!
i dont really worry about people finding me or approaching me on the street- i dont think enough people read my blog in my area to be able to do that!
I don’t worry about people finding me. Whenever I talk about people..I usually keep them anonymous so it wouldn’t be obvious if they found my blog. For instance “girl with the weird spandex running tights”. But in the end…my last name is part of my blog title..so not too sly right? At least I’m changing my name over to my married name..haha
Haha I am slightly obsessed with Giada…like I want to be her 🙂
Congrats on the invites!!! SO exciting! I sent my save the dates out last week and that made it feel more real too 🙂
That salad sounds absolutely delish!
Oh and I’ve booked (most) of my honeymoon!! I can’t wait!
I just started a blog and I’ll admit, at times it feels a little strange sharing my day to day activities with the world! We’ll see how it pans out!
Fab news about the invites – I think sending them out definitely makes the wedding more “official” 🙂
