Dinner at Seasons 52
PhillyBoy took me on a surprise date on Friday after our first week living together in Philadelphia! He knows me soooo well because he took me to Seasons 52 in Cherry Hill, NJ. Every time we drive by I beg him to take me and I guess Friday the timing was finally right! We had such an amazing dinner and such an amazing time. Do I look happy entering the restaurant? My face in this picture does not do it justice. Trust me.
For those of you unfamiliar with the restaurant (I am NOT talking about you!!!) everything on the regular menu is under 475 calories and every dessert item (served in shot glasses) has less than 350 calories. The menu changes depending on what is seasonally available. I am so happy that we went to dinner almost HANGRY because the food was divine.
To start…
We had the ripe plum tomato flatbread & PB had the gazpacho (sorry no picture of that- forgot!!!), The flatbread was super, super thin with just a sprinkling of cheese (ok a bit more than that, but just the right amount) and lots of thin slices of plum tomatoes. By the way, tomatoes from New Jersey deserve awards. They are so delicious and tasty.
When it came time to order our dinner PB and I were both craving Greek salads but there wasn’t an entree sized one on the menu. After asking our lovely server Heather if we could have BIG Greek salads and she said they could do that, we were sold. Greek salad with chicken for PB and Greek salad with Salmon for myself. The salmon melted in my mouth and the salad had just the right amount of dressing- and the roasted lemon served with it was amazing too! Somehow roasting the lemon made it more lemony. Does that make sense? I love squeezing lemon on fish and will definitely try roasting a lemon when cooking fish next time!
PB really enjoyed his salad too and said it was the perfect size.
One of the chefs came by our table and told us that they portion control everything. They use 1 liter containers for the salads and ladles to measure some other items. I LOVE knowing that the chefs and staff are doing what they can to make sure our portions are right and our food is fresh. We both devoured our salads, but of course there was room for a shot glass dessert! I actually didn’t even really want dessert and it definitely wasn’t treat night (I had an amazing dessert at home last week- just wait for the next post to see!!!) but I ordered it anyway. I HAD to experience a little bit of everything Seasons 52 right?
I had the blueberry cheesecake and PB had the key lime pie. Both were amazing and just the right amount. I may have taken just a few too many dips into PB’s shot glass, too. Next time I am ordering THAT- sorry PB 😉

Our meal was delicious, the atmosphere warm, and we didn’t have to roll ourselves out of there!!! And even better news? They are opening a new location that seats 500 in King of Prussia, PA! The opening date is set for spring 2010, not that far away! If you have a Seasons 52 restaurant near you check it out!!!!
I grew up fairly close to K of P, so next time I’m home visiting my parents I’ll check this place out! The food looks awesome :).
Those salads look amazing! I need to check to see if they have a location near here!
I went there when I was down in Ft Lauderdale and I have been wanting one in New England ever since!!!!
I can’t wait to go there! Did you go into the Container Store? I loooove that place, only because i’m insanely organized.
Lauren- No I didn’t go to the container store this time but I went to one in Boston in July…. I meant to buy one thing and bought 10 of course! Are you in Philly?? Somehow I thought you were from Boston?
I am dying to try Seasons 52 but there isn’t one near me at all!!
Your dinner looks soooo yummy! And I love the huge smile on your face outside the restaurant- that is a happy wife! It was so nice of PB to take you out to such a special dinner <3
That place looks great! And I sooooo miss my Jersey tomatoes.
I live in Marlton, New Jersey. About 10 mins from the Cherry Hill Mall. I gave you my resume for Philly Boy a few months ago.
Lauren- yes hi hi hi!!! Sorry I mixed you up with another Lauren 😉 We should do a meetup soon!
That’s okay!! A meet-up would be fun!! I will shoot you an e-mail next time my boyfriend and I go out in Philly that way you don’t have to cross the bridge. Do you guys hang out in Old City at all?
i had no idea there is a seasons 52 in cherry hill!!! might need to plan a trip to philly 🙂
