Just Bare Chicken Review
How many of you are suddenly uninterested in animal protein? I know that after educating myself last year I no longer purchase chicken that doesn’t conform to my high standards. Just Bare Chicken does, and you can taste it.
Just Bare Chicken, according to the website and label:
-has no added hormones
-has no antibiotics- ever
-is all natural
-is cage free
-is vegetable fed
-is traceable to the family farm
This is the company’s mission:
“We started with a clear package and a desire to bare it all.
To provide natural, healthy chicken like nature intended.
Unadulterated. Unadorned. Just delicious. With a
straightforward, honest commitment to respecting our
people, animals and planet.Nothing less. Nothing more.
And we invite you to dig a little deeper. To learn where your
package of Just BARE™ came from, our caring practices and
our high quality standards used to produce chicken that’s a
delicious and responsible centerpiece of any meal.”
I love it!
While I eat mostly a vegetarian diet, I am more than happy to eat Just Bare Chicken. Not only does it boast all of the above labels but it tastes so… fresh, for lack of a better term. Actually, I can compare the flavor of the chicken most to the chicken I have had in Jordan. Eating this chicken makes me feel like I am sitting at a farm table in the middle of a garden enjoying a fresh meal. If you see Just Bare Chicken in your market, I highly suggest you buy some and taste for yourself.

We usually buy our meat at the farmer’s market now. I’ve never heard of this company before, but I will look for it next time I’m at the supermarket!
That chicken sounds wonderful, it’s great to see that companies like this exist!
Wow, this looks great. Never heard of it before. Thanks!
YUM. I’ll look for this! I also love the Rocky/Rosie organic chickens from Petaluma Farms, which operate under a similar philosophy. Hooray for responsible meat.
Does anyone know who carries this?
I’ve seen this product in the grocery store lately. I’ll have to pick it up next time I see it. Thanks for the great review!
foodieinthecity- Thanks! Do you mind sharing where you found it? I am still waiting on a reply from the rep for locations nationwide.
I get it at Hy-Vee (Iowa/Ne) and SuperTarget
I realize this is an old thread, but as a top return on the Google search I wanted to reply for future viewers.
My lifestyle mirrors the Primal Blueprint. I grow all of my fish, vegetables, herbs, etc. via aquaponics, but that still left me in need of beef and chicken and is what led me to BARE. There are a number of resources like the Primal Blueprint, a documentary called Food, Inc. and a book called The Omnivour’s Dilemna and each deals with a different aspect of the poisonous grains corn and soy. To sum those arguments up I will simply say corn is the primary ingredient for the vast (VAST) majority of health issues in the modern world. The largest, by far, source of ecological destruction on the planet is farming of soy and corn.
That brings me back to BARE. Handling of the chickens, in each stage, is just as important to me as what they are fed. I stopped purchasing BARE chicken on the sole basis they are fed corn and soy meal. Over 90% of the soy in America is genetically modified. These GMOs are modified specifically to resist the application of the chemical Round Up. Both the seeds and Round Up are manufactured by Monsanto Corporation.
BARE chicken is not organic because they use corn and soy in their feed.
It doesn’t say it’s organic anywhere in this post or in the company’s labels/website.
Can you link to any sources that back up your claim that corn is the primary ingredient responsible for the majority of health issues in the modern world?
If this is true, wouldn’t that mean that societies that consume large amounts of corn (for example, a typical meal in Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras usually includes corn tortillas) would have higher rates of illness and death? Is this the case, though?
Thank you, Eagle Bears!,I came here looking for just that information as I wonder the same thing! It is pricey to not be organic. Whenever something says No ADDED hormones it surely perks my ears up a bit. Also ‘vegetable fed’ doesn’t mean that those vegetables aren’t compromised with toxic chemicals etc.
For that price I’ll get organic chicken on sale and freeze it.
Weirdly enough I found this at Target in California. I never thought they carried good products like this, but it saves me extra time going to whole foods for chicken!
