Lauren’s Sangria
Sangria is a wonderfully refreshing summer drink. With juice, lots of ice, and fresh fruits, it makes a pretty presentation. We make a batch at almost every warm weather party, and everyone always enjoys it. This past weekend, at a bachelorette party, I made 8 batches!!!!! Yes, I swear it is that good! My friend Lauren gave me this recipe years ago, and I have never made a single substitution. It is perfect, just as it is.
Lauren’s Sangria
Ingredients:
1/2 cup peach schnapps
1/2 cups Triple Sec
2 cups red wine* (merlot)
2 cups Sprite Zero
2 1/2 cups orange juice
1 green apple, 1 red apple, 1 orange: all cut up in same size pieces
Directions:
Mix together all ingredients in a pitcher or punch bowl. Add ice and enjoy!
*Cheap red wine works best for the sangria. I buy, on Lauren’s suggestion, the Carlo Rossi Merlot jugs. It is about $15 for the huge bottle.
I think I am partly responsible for the 6th, 7th, and 8th batches 😀
I love sangria… I am going to try it!! Thanks Sabrina
Ahhhh sangria is one of my favorite drinks! LOVE IT!
So beautiful! Perfect for a party. Glad you’re getting some great submissions (every time I see a yummy looking salad on another blog I tell them to submit). I am planning to finally get mine to you sometime soon 😉
Yum!
I make a very similar drink for parties, nothing like fruit floating around in a punch bowl. Beautiful.
@Midgetkeeper, If you would like to share a link to your recipe, you may certainly do so! I love new recipes!
Ooh thanks for this recipe — I love sangria and am going to a tapas potluck next weekend. This might be my contribution!
LOVE this sangria recipe…surely i have some sort of even this weekend that justifies making it? if not i’ll come up with something 🙂 the picture totally makes it!
I adore sangria! I might sub seltzer water for the soda because that’s just my style 🙂 Thanks!
@Michelle @ Find Your Balance, I actually use seltzer sometimes instead of the soda- my favorite is the lime seltzer! Let me know how you like it!
Don’t you love that it is getting to be sangria season?! That recipe looks great!
You’re missing the brandy!!
@Jillian, brandy?!?!? really??! How much? I’ve never made it with brandy before!
I love that you use sprite zero here…and haha, this sangria looks so harmless, almost like an innocent fruit punch.
I LOVE Sangria…thanks for this awesome recipe!!
I LOVE sangria! I usually go for the white sangria, but I love the red too. Thanks for sharing!
You can’t go wrong with that combination.
I love Sangria!! I tried making it ‘fresh’ in college my sophomore year when I still lived in the dorms…bad new bear haha
I’ve actually never had Sangria. This recipe look so good and like trouble!!! 😉
