15 weeks pregnant and eating like Miss Piggy!
When I was a teenager my cousin gave me a Miss Piggy magnet that read:
Never eat more than you can lift.
I found offense to that then until I realized it was absolutely hilarious. I wish I still had that magnet.
At 15 weeks pregnant my appetite is coming back in full force. I am still nauseous a lot, but I’m not getting sick and it is more an all day hungover nausea type feeling. I know many of you know exactly the feeling I’m talking about… the nausea from that gin and tonic at 1 AM you didn’t really need followed by the 3 slices of pizza you didn’t really need followed by the memories of what actually happened last night and omg-did-I-really-do-that thoughts. That’s what it feels like. Random.
I’m not sure if I’m eating a lot or if I just get full really fast now. Also, I am eating a lot of foods (well food products) that I haven’t eaten in years. I’m ashamed to admit a couple of them to you, but in time I will, I promise. Both of those facts make me feel like I’m eating so much and so horribly, but I’m really not. I mean, I even had melon on my ride home yesterday!
I spent the weekend in RI and it was so nice to show off my bump to my friends and family. I think I popped somewhere in the last week because now I look pregnant, not just fat. At least my friends promised that I look pregnant and not fat and I believe my friends.. at least the ones who haven’t had babies yet (see video for more).
Belly Pic:
Previous belly pics can be found here.
For the first time in weeks I put on makeup and a nice outfit for my friend’s shower. I actually felt pretty which is nice, and I was inspired to make a little video update. I’ve been avoiding doing it because I felt like I had dark circles under my eyes for weeks and no desire to put on some blush. Times are changing though!
Random Facts of the Week:
Overall weight gained: ~2 lbs
Weight gained from a weekend of indulgence in RI: not sure yet, but it could be a good 0.5 lbs
Crying fests: 2 the day I posted my last update, a few on the ride home from RI yesterday
Things I’ve panicked about in the last week: breastfeeding, having cankles, making room for a baby in our guest room, finding a good stretch mark lotion, having my phone die on the ride home from RI, picking boys’ names, finalizing a few girls’ names, eating too much, not eating enough, not getting enough calcium, getting too much calcium… shall I go on?
Food cravings: mozzarella sticks (never got my fix)… and that’s really it right now. Bizarre.
Amount of exercise: I’m going walking tonight, Kindle in tow!
Maternity clothes: 2, 1 dress for $19.99 from Motherhood Maternity to last me through the last of the cold weather, 1 dress for $99.99 from Pea in the Pod that I should be able to wear for at least 3 months
Pants that fit: 2, both leggings
Clothing pieces in my closet that don’t fit or look ridiculous: ummm, everything but about 5 things.
Strangers who rubbed my belly without my consent: 1, an older lady at the airport who was gushing over how cute I look. I didn’t mind the pat since it was accompanied by such sweet compliments, especially since I was feeling like a slob.
Do you have any pregnancy questions for me? I’ll try to be as open as possible and will answer them in next week’s post.

Looking great girl! I think you’re brave for posting the weight gain π I just don’t want to put that info out there right now (I’m right on track- in the middle of the bracket and all…its just a little overwhelming haha). Mozzarella sticks hmm? Sounds good to me! I’m still hooked on crab and shrimp
I totally know that all day hangover pregnancy feeling… ugh! I kept thinking, HOW DO I FEEL LIKE THIS??? I CAN’T EVEN DRINK!!! haha. You’re bump is looking so great!!! π HOpefully that nauseous feeling goes away SOOON! just eat LOTS and LOTS of small meals. I can barely eat a whole bowl of oatmeal now without DYING afterwards of heartburn and nausea.. (something to look forward to maybe! ;)) haha.. 1. your feet and ankles may swell towards the end, but you won’t have KANKLES GOOFBALL! They will go back to normal. it’s just all the water you’re retaining. 2. stretch marks are all decided by genetics.. but cream it up to keep soft :)- just try for an all natural one because what goes through the skin can go thru to the placenta too π 3. you have made me crave mozzarella sticks now! lol. damn you!
Happpy Pregnancy!! xoxo

You look amazing and sound like you are really feeling better. I feel like I should save these posts for when I am pregnant to be reassured that what I go through is normal!
and your video just showed up! So CUTE!! π Show off that bump girl! π
you probably don’t remember, but remember after 6th grade dances, we used to go to applebee’s and eat mozzarella sticks and call them “mike cirrillo” sticks π
@stephanie, Of course I remember! I also remember begging someone, ANYONE, to go halfsies on mozzarella sticks and a chicken finger basket with extra honey mustard π
Love your random facts and you seriously look amazing! π Try not to worry (the panic list)… it’ll all work out and you’ll get it all done usually in plenty of time π
I used The Body Shop’s cocoa butter body butter for all 9 months from head to toe and didn’t end up with one stretch mark in spite of an over 40lb weight gain. Good luck!
I recently found a really cute online boutique that has beautiful maternity dresses (in addition to little girl clothes and non maternity wear) called Shabby Apple. Such cute things and pretty reasonably priced!
you look glowing in your video π I am sure your appetite will come back soon and in force!
Lol belly rubs! I think I would freak if someone random started to touch me, You look soooo happy and excited in your video, I can’t wait for more!
I have been reading your blog for a few months now, and I love it! I actually from RI too, and now live just outside of Philly. My husband and I are planning to start trying for a baby in the next couple of months, and I have been reading a lot about pregnancy and getting pregnant. I am looking forward to reading all of your pregnancy posts. Thanks so much for sharing!
@Kaitlyn, Thanks! Where are you from in RI? I’m from Cranston! If you have any TTC questions feel free to email me- I’m an open book.
@RhodeyGirlTests, I am from Tiverton. I am actually going there is weekend and cannot wait! I miss living in RI. Thanks for offering to answer questions.
I had my first stranger rub my belly this weekend (at 36 weeks!). She was also a little old lady who kept saying how cute I was, so all I could do was smile.
You look great! I’m about to hit 33 weeks, and no stretch marks yet (hopefully make it all the way!). I’ve been using massive amounts of St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea butter all over a few times a day (b/c it’s super cheap and makes me MUCH less itchy), and then do the belly/hips/torso with Bio Oil once or twice a day.
One of the BEST pregnancy meals I ate was fried and chicken fingers from Applebees! haha! I also ate waaaaay too many potato chips – those were my vice along with sandwiches with tons of mayo. Delicious.
Love your updates!! You look awesome!! I think random belly rubs would be weird, but I think a little old lady is fine haha. PB needs to get his girl some mozzarella sticks asap π Now I’m thinking of the irony of the food/nausea thing… I always had great thoughts of ebing able to eat foods I maybe normally wouldnt when I get pregnant (like mozz sticks…etc), but then the nausea too? So your saying I can eat without worry about weight going to my belly but wont be able to stomach it anyways because of the nausea haha…man, nature is NOT funny.
you look great π I want to take you shopping and visit you!!!!!
I have a postcard on my fridge with the Miss Piggy saying on it – it hits home these days π
I just used vitamin E oil on my belly – just a little bottle I got a target for under 5 bucks. I don’t know if it worked or if I’m lucky, but I don’t have a single stretch mark!
I love the vlog- I’d definitely like to see more, it’s such a fun way to give updates!! And I love how excited you are about the bump. I feel like so many women just try to hide it, but being pregnant is the most exciting thing in the world- show it off with pride!!
you are doing GREAT mama!
You are so cute!
Ahh Sabrina. This is my first time seeing your belly photos – (obviously I’m behind on my blog reading!)but can I just say that you’re adorable!! π
you are SO cute. miss you, friend!
um, I’m sort of obsessed with your vlog. and your cute bump. and well… you in general. <3
Sabrina, the one thing no one really prepared me for was breastfeeding. It was the only source of stress post partum! No one tells you how to do it, when to do it etc. My advice to you is to read up on the subject and take a class if possible. The other thing that really worked for me is almond oil. It is a staple in every pregnant woman’s bath routine here in Italy. Use it whenever you shower, on wet skin, and I was lucky enough to not get any stretch marks. You look wonderful, enjoy this very beautiful period.
I love how excited you sound in your video! You look so cute pregnant!
I used a stretch mark cream/lotion from Clinique (cant remember exact name) that did absolutely nothing. Being pregnant with twins and gaining around 35 kg (over 70 pounds!!!), nothing could stop those stretch marks!
Love the vlog and your pregnancy updates! You look amazing and you definitely have that pregnancy glow!! And I love how proud and glowing you are…I know I’ll want to wear the tightest tops too to show of that bump! π
I’m just catching up on the blog world (I took a little time off when I had my baby who is 6 months now). Congratulations! You will love being a mom, it’s the best thing ever.
Also, boy clothes are insanely cute, I promise
Hahaha! I love your blog(s)! I am 13 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and I love your excitement and exuberance. It is such an awesome experience and one that i am so grateful to experience again. Keep em coming π big hugs from New Zealand
These updates are so helpful! I am 14.5 weeks and am STARVING all the time. Good to know I’m not the only one who is like this at this stage.
I don’t know if this is normal but I’m only 15 weeks pregnant and I’m eating like a boss..I’m not gaining weight but my bump is starting to grow*
I’m not a doctor but sounds normal to me!
