Blogging brings lifelong friends.
I feel energized (and exhausted).
I’m not really sure where I fit in anymore. I attended the Healthy Living Summit this weekend, but I didn’t participate the way I normally would have. With just about a month until my due date, I am a bit preoccupied by my excitement as well as my aches and pains. Am I a healthy living blogger? I’m not sure. It doesn’t really matter. I’ve never cared what category or box I fit in, and maybe it’s good that I don’t feel that I fit in any one box well right now.
After this weekend I feel energized and inspired. If I didn’t have plans to attend the HLS, I would have surely been sitting on my couch all weekend complaining about all of the Braxton Hicks contractions I’m having as well as my lack of ability to tie my own shoes. Instead, I was forced to get out and about, where good friends and laughter distracted me from the watermelon in my belly and the waddle in my walk. It was really good for me. Although I feel absolutely exhausted physically, I am mentally refreshed.
The greatest takeaway from an event like this, for me, is the realization that blogging has brought me lifelong friends.
It is a fantastic realization to make.
And PS- Thank you all so much for your kind comments and encouragement about the end of pregnancy. A few kind words go a long way in the heart of a pregnant lady waiting in anticipation to meet her baby and feel like herself again. It was very uplifting.

Great to meet you this weekend! I was inspired by your cloth diaper advice and did my own wash this weekend which was quite successful! Will be blogging about it soon! ๐
yay one more month to go! the aches and pains and lack of ability to tie your shoes will be well worth it when you get something amazing at the end of all of this!
So glad you had a nice weekend! Youre so close!!
It was *so* great to see you — and I’m going to send you my Italy itinerary so you can make some suggestions!
And I can’t wait to see the newest addition to the RhodeyPhilly family.
You are an inspiration to us all! And can I say you are the most beautiful pregnant woman I have ever seen. You rock that baby bump mama!
I find distractions keep me sane, otherwise I stare at the clock and realize I don’t feel anywhere close to going into labor ๐
I’m glad you had such a great weekend!
I like your take on this. I am soo glad you came. I love the bags you gave out. I am not going to lie I totally thought I need to come up with some cool idea like this! Thanks!
You are a healthy, pregnant blogger. Healthy does not mean you have to be a runner. I am over 40 and I am a healthy person even though I am not a runner and have a 9-5 job and don’t go out to eat all the time like most of the bloggers do. You are healthy in where you are in life.
Love your blog. How lucky your baby is to have a healthy lifestyle to be born into.
I love this picture!
first time visitor here… congrats on your pregnancy and soon to be baby! my son is 17 months. i’m glad i’m not the only preggo who wears horizontal stripes (seriously, every picture i have). you look great!
LOVED hanging out with you guys last night and getting to catch up this weekend. i’m so excited for little bambino to get here!
take care and keep me updated with everything <3
xoxo
Wonderful to meet you this weekend Sabrina!
You are positively glowing, and you may not feel it but you at least LOOK refreshed ๐
You’re almost at the end of the road, and these weeks will be over before you know it. I can’t wait to meet your bambino!!
I am sure it was a great distraction! So glad you got to go! My bRaxton Hicks JUST started this past weekend. Talk about weird!
you are almost there. one more month till you can actually take in a deep breath!!! You don’t need to fit into a box. you do you.
Sabrina! You glowed this weekend and I was personally inspired by your tenacity to stick out the entire day. It was great seeing you again and I’m excited you’re so close to delivery. (PS- enjoy Mad Men and let me know if you think Don Draper is the cat’s pajamas or a cad…)
So nice meeting you! Best wishes with the last month – you will be a great mom!
I loved catching up with you this weekend. I have to admit I don’t really think of myself as a healthy living blogger ever even though I come to these conferences. If anything I’d say I’m a food blogger, but I’ve been to those conferences, too, and the company isn’t as friendly and awesome.
Amen. Such a true post. Friendships are the best part about blogging. I’m so glad you had a good weekend! You continue to look so gorgeous!
Yay – I love that photo of you!!
Sabrina, I’ve been following your blog and your CalorieKing blog for years now, but I’ve always been too shy to comment. I’ve always loved your healthy relationship with food and I love reading your menus. I know you said you don’t really care about labels and fitting in but I want you to know that I think, without a single reservation, that you are a healthy living blogger!!
Healthy living isn’t all about eating and fitness habits, it’s about finding a happy balance and loving live. Your blog is one of my favorites to read because you do that so well. Your little Bambino is one lucky baby!
You look fabulous! Only a few short weeks to go! As soon as you deliver that little bambino, many of your aches and pains will feel immediately relieved:) Rest as much as you can and prop up your feet and enjoy:)
I hope I look half as amazing as you do when my husband and I have babies – you are simply glowing! ๐
Hey Sabrina
Of course you’re a healthy living blogger! It’s not about blogging about your monthly half marathon, giving up refined sugars and eating super clean. It’s about living in a healthy manner, regardless of your circumstances. Gone are the days of extremism and they should not be promoted. It’s all about balance! I’m tired of blogs that are all about that holier than thou attitude, killing themselves with exercise and tiny little eats. Aren’t you??
It was wonderful seeing you this weekend, pretty lady! Best of luck with the last month ๐
You look great! Wish I could have been there to met you!
It was great to see you this weekend! I am SO excited for you for the arrival of bambino ๐
“Healthy living blogger” is such a broad term. My blog has changed directions lately too and I’m not sure if I still fit the mold of it, but I think that anyone who tries to lead a healthy life can be classified as one!
You look radiant! I wish i could have been there to have met you! Friends and laughter are a great distraction!
You cannn dooo it!!
i feel the same wondering — if my blog even truly would be considered a healthy living blog anymore — but i guess is the truth is it doesn’t matter! love yours no matter how it is categorized ๐
You AREN’T like all the other “healthy living bloggers” but that’s why I like you. In my bookmarks, your posts are always refreshingly out of the mold ๐
I kinda think I’m a blogging friend now ๐ From Italy to our mid-twenties. To Rhodey, Ohio, Boston, Chicago and Philly… I am so proud to know you as my friend. Love you like family, Sabri. Thank you for being you.
