Our last meal as a family of two.
Lots of women nest right before they go into labor. Apparently, I cook.
The night before I went into labor I decided to cook a really nice meal for Trig and I. After seeing this recipe from Cooking Light on the shu box, I decided that was exactly what I would cook- steamed asparagus and all.
I set the coffee table nicely, plated the food in a pretty way, and we had a lovely romantic dinner. It was a great way to unknowingly celebrate our last evening as a family of two.
How do I rate the recipe? 8/10 at least. It was easy to prepare and tasted far more decadent than it was. I am, in general, not a fan of cream cheese, so I was hesitant about its use in the recipe. However, it really worked to add creaminess without calories or weight.
PS- Birth story coming tomorrow!

Aw, I think it’s cute that you cooked such a nice meal before you became a family of 3. I cannot wait to read the birth story! 🙂
Looks like a fabulous meal! Hope you’re doing well!!
Looks amazing!!!
Looks really good!
Fixed this for dinner tonight. It was good but will probably be better next time when I actually remember to include the half and half! Pregnancy brain at its best 🙂
Can’t wait to read tomorrow!!!
It’s so sweet that you guys got to share such a special evening together before your baby boy arrived. Sound like a lot more fun than folding baby clothes or other typical nesting activities. Can’t wait for the birth story!
OH how great! Your last date as a couple!
