Christmas Wish List for a 1-2 year old
Now that it’s November I feel comfortable talking about CHRISTMAS. I love the magic that surrounds the season. I always have. I remember working as a family to get our fake tree up when I was really little, and later going to pick out a nice big one from the farm. I loved Christmas Eve with our entire family, where my mom’s lasagna and champagne risotto made an appearance and we got to open presents when Santa came. I loved Christmas morning where we’d sit in the dining room and have a quiet and cozy day. I loved it all, and I love creating new memories with my own little family. This is our first Christmas in our new house, and I know it will be a special one.
We will probably wrap all of Raffi’s unopened birthday gifts to put under his tree, but I’ve also had my eye on a few small things. Here are a few gifts that I think would be great for a 1-2 year old this holiday season:
Nerf Balls Mini Sports Pack Basketball Football Soccer
Raffi loves playing with his friend’s soccer ball and basketball. These are sized for a child so they are easy to kick and throw around.
Shaker eggs! Any time we take a music class or visit Nest in Philly Raffi immediately runs for the shaker eggs. These are exactly what they’re called, eggs you shake. They make a lovely sound and are the perfect size for little hands. I see older kids playing with these at Nest all the time, too.
The New York Doll Collection Umbrella Doll Stroller, Red
When we go to the playground or Rittenhouse Square Raffi immediately runs for leaves and doll strollers. He will steal a doll stroller from any kid and try to run away with it. The advantage of a toy stroller over other push toys is that it FOLDS so you can put it in your stroller and easily take it with you to the park, playground or a friend’s house. I love the color of this one. It’s inexpensive and will probably break in less than a year, but we don’t mind that.
Toy Vacuum- Dyson Ball Vacuum With Real Suction and Sounds
Every kid needs toy cleaning supplies. If you can’t afford a toy vacuum, check out the $1 Target bin for mini dustpans and brushes. They are a big hit around here.
Melissa & Doug Habitats Reusable Sticker Pad
Raffi has recently entered the world of stickers. These are great for long car rides, train rides, plane rides, rainy/snowy days, etc. Raffi hates stickers that can’t be taken back off, so reusable sticker pads are the way to go.
These are just a few ideas, but I like the price points and use of space. None will take over our living room. Good luck and have fun shopping. Happy Cyber Monday!

Ooh! The toy vacuum! I might have to investigate that. Maybe he’d leave my dust-buster alone then?
