Ali’s 3 month update
Ali is 3 months old! How did that happen?
This has been a busy summer, and Ali has been a trooper. Her young age and fragility has not stopped us from doing anything this summer – she is one tough girl! The most fun we’ve had this month was our 4th of July weekend at the beach. At first I was afraid she would get sandy on the beach or get cold if we put her in the water, but we decided to just go for it. Ali LOVED the pool and sat in Raffi’s old car float for an hour, and she also loved the beach breeze. She is going to be a little fish next summer. I can already tell.
On the practical side, she has still been so easy. Here’s what her different schedules look like:
Nursing: 8 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, 5 PM, 7:30 PM, 5 AM
Sleep: 8 PM- 5 AM, 5:15 AM- 7:30 AM and a nice long 2 hour swing nap sometime during the day. She takes a mini 20 minute nap here and there, but not enough to call a serious nap. She still only naps on the floor, in a baby carrier, in the car seat or swing, but this month we will hopefully introduce crib naps.
Ali has a lot less hair than Raffi had at this age, and she has a little bald spot in the back of her head from rubbing it on the sheets during the night. She smiles all the time and loves music and her brother. Raffi shows her his books and toys and she follows him around the room with her eyes.
We still don’t have any rolling, but I’m guessing she will go from back to belly before she goes from belly to back. She already pushes herself to the side from her back.
This week we introduced sleeping without the swaddle, and so far she is doing great.
I also had my first 100% cloth diaper day ever. With Raffi I only cloth diapered occasionally at home, but after some encouragement and tips from Hangry Pants I’m really going for it. I bet if we all beg Heather will be willing to share those tips with all of you too. Anyway, the first full day went really well and I’m excited to continue.
I don’t like the newborn stage so much, and I’m so excited that Ali is out of that. She is interacting so much and smiling and cooing like crazy.

Raffi’s 3 month update
Previous updates
I cannot get over how well she sleeps already!!!! Amazing- and gives me hope 🙂
The hardest period for me was 4-5 months with Raffi. If she makes it through that sleep regression easily I will be the luckiest mom.
She’s such a cutie!
She is just too adorable! I love her smiles. I will share all tips with anyone interested! How is going for you with the diapers?
Heather, are you blogging again?! Did you have a baby?! You are missed! We have never met but I was/am a fan of yours. I am also a good friend of Kerry Robert whom I believe you know from high school! Hope all is well in your world! And Savrina, Ali (and Raffi!) are adorable. I’m a mom to 20 month old Alex and will have a girl I’m September so it is nice to read about what’s to come with an older brother and little sister!
Cool about Kerry! I am not blogging – just friends with Sabrina. And yes, I did have a baby this fall. Congrats on your upcoming baby. I applaud those with two under two!
I second this! I miss Hangry Pants 🙂 Congrats on your baby Heather!
Thank you for saying that you did not like the newborn stage! I was amazed at how hard and upsetting it was for me but now my little guy is 2.5 months old and it’s much more enjoyable now 🙂 Just refreshing to know I wasn’t the only one!
