Guylian Chocolate Giveaway
And the random winner is….
JoyinChina
Since Iβm very single, my dream Valentines day would involve going out with girlfriends to get a mani-pedi and a massage, followed by dinner (Mexican), an array of chic flicks, and chocolate!
***Email me your contact information so we can send off your chocolates. Congratulations!
My paternal grandparents weren’t around as much as my nonna growing up, but when they did visit we went over to their house often. The house was always a bit intimidating to me. It smelled a little musty, and us kids were always given white pita sandwiches filled with apple jam. Today when I smell apple jam I am brought back to those memories instantly.
One of my many uncles who lived there along the years always had a box of Guylian chocolates. I would pick the smoothest, flattest one (usually the mussel or seahorse) and eat it as slowwwwwwwly as possibly to make it last. A Guylian chocolate is a pure, silky smooth milk, dark and white Belgian chocolate filled with decadent, creamy chocolate praline truffle. They are slightly reminiscent of the Italian gianduia, but somehow they are just a bit more special.
Guylian sent me a few chocolates gratis to sample so I could relive those memories again, and they agreed to let me share the chocolate dream with you. Up for grabs in thise Cupid-filled time of year is a bag full of Guylian chocolate shipped to your house.
Here’s what you have to do to enter: Simply leave a comment sharing your dream Valentine’s day before Monday, February 14 at 12 noon EST.
Happy Valentine’s Day from Guylian & RhodeyGirl to you!
*Disclosure: No one can turn down the offer of sampling a chocolate filled with memories, including me. I did receive these for free, but if I had seen them in the market I would have purchased them myself! As always, all of my opinions are completely my own and I am very selective in the foods I choose to share with you. Thanks for reading!
P.S. Are you sick of winter too? Dream of spring with this 5 minute salad.

Dressing up and going out with my girls – to a nice restaurant, then a fun bar. π
My husband and I always go eat some sort of meat (we’re vegetarians) followed by a delicious dessert. For some reason this is our idea of romantic – but I love it! π
Those chocolates look marvelous!
My dream valentine day would be some breakfast in bed, of course cooked by hubby dearest and then some loitering here and there, and dinner, made by me, all HIS favorites!! A candlelight wouldn’t harm π
You had me at chocolate! My dream valentine day…hmm…since I’m not married or dating anyone, I would like for someone to surprise me with a cheesy valentine scavenger hunt that leads to a breath-taking view of my city as the end. Packed picnic with all my favorites including dark chocolate covered strawberries.
Romantic night at home for sure!
My dream valentines day is being able to be with my boyfriend, cooking and eating at home with wine, then dancing in the livingroom with dark chocolate!
Definitely just a movie night, something low key!
I’m easy to please on Valentines Day…I really just want some beautiful fresh flowers and a nice dinner π Ideally I wouldnt have to work and we could spend the day togehter too π Mmm those chocolates look delicious!
Spending a quiet night with good food and wine with my man
Just a quiet, stress-free night at home perhaps with Belgian chocolates too!
Treating my wife to a home cooked dinner and sending the kids to my in laws for the evening
My dream Valentine’s day would be a walk on the beach in New Hampshire, followed by a romantic candlelit dinner (anywhere, really, as long as there’s seafood!), followed by a relaxing and cuddly evening spent at The Wren’s Nest Inn in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where my husband and I spent our honeymoon night. I suppose this requires a bit of back story – we live in landlocked Iowa, and the ocean is one of my favorite places in the world. We had a very small informal wedding ceremony at Rye Beach in NH, where my husband’s family is from. The yearning for the ocean and seafood (and our wonderful honeymoon inn!) comes from only getting to visit the Seacoast once a year and missing it dearly! So, as this is now the longest comment ever, that would be my dream Valentine’s Day. Hopefully someday it will happen. π
My dream Valentine day story:
Snuggling by the Fire with my man after a couple of glasses of wine and watching the notebook π simple yet sweet!
My dream Valentines Day would involve cooking! Either I would cook for my significant other, or my significant other would cook for me (the latter sounds a little more romantic!) And then follow up the evening with copious amounts of chocolate! : )
A whole day with nothing to do but spend time with my husband.
I love the dinner and Winterlude traditions that my husband and I have… however if I could have the dream Valentines Day we would be vacationing somewhere warm, far away from the snow.
A night at home with good food and a whole lotta chocolate for dessert π
These chocolates look so visually appealing and sound so yummy! Thank you for providing such a wonderful, varied blog. I am vegetarian and really appreciate your variety! Keep up the great work!
@Sarah, Thank you so much for your nice comment!
I’d love to spend V-day some place warm with wine and dessert!
My dream Valentines Day would take place somewhere warm and tropical. We’d spend the day hanging out on the beach, then end the day with a delicious meal at a nice restaurant!
My perfect valentines is to not do or worry about anything, relax in a quiet aromatic atmosphere, and read the most intimate book of all! The Bible. But on Monday I will be hanging out with my girlfriends!
Relax with chocolate and a massage!
My perfect Valentine’s Day would be an evening with a significant other, drinking wine at home, with cell phones off and put away…
My partner and I have had to live hundreds of miles apart for many years. A dream valentine’s day that we actually got to spend together.
A chocolate fountain π
My husband and a chocolate fountain are all I need!
My perfect Vday:
-spending the day at the spa for the works: massage, mani, pedi and getting my hair
and make up done.
-meeting the hubby for dinner at a posh restaurant
-spending the night at a gorgeous hotel with breakfast in bed
Since I’m very single, my dream Valentines day would involve going out with girlfriends to get a mani-pedi and a massage, followed by dinner (Mexican), an array of chic flicks, and chocolate!
Wine and chocolate- a perfect recipe for a nice Valentine’s day
Yum chocolates! My dream Valentine is just spending the day and/or evening with the one I love.. tonight my Valentine & I are going for a walk to the movie theater to see The King’s Speech and then going to quiet, romantic dinner.
… spending the weekend with Dadri… and it came true!
@The Greek, Too sweet! I hope to meet you soon!!!! Happy Valentine’s Day!
My dream Valentine’s Date would be a romantic dinner for two at my kitchen table followed by dessert at Bern’s (they have the BEST souffle) and a walk by the water with Maddie. π
A night out with my girlfriends! We’re all young girls waiting to meet our Prince Charmings, so a night of yummy food, chocolate, a chick flick, and laughs would be perfect! That and some flowers from someone sweet. π
Honestly right now..my dream V-day would just to be able to spend it with my boyfriend on the couch with a tub of ice cream and a good movie. He’s away this year and it makes me sad π
My dream weekend is doing anything, with my fiance by my side. I learned that the hard way this weekend, when we had a totally fab weekend planned and I got really sick — we didn’t do all that we wanted to, but it was as perfect as it could possibly be, just because he was by my side.
My sweet husband has a tradition of giving me handmade cards… I love them!
Dream is go to New York, see a musical and then dinner and dancing!! <3
